An Analogy I just found that I think is great for the neg.

Compare Idealism to a diamond… When we hold it in it’s original form straight from the ground it has great potential however, unless we process this valuable piece of rock by cutting it precisely and putting it through the gem process it never achieves it’s full worth. No one can recognize it’s brilliance without the gem process being instituted.

Pragmatism must be valued above or equally to idealism so that the benefits of idealism can be recognized.

That is an absolutely fantastic analogy. I wish it fitted my case but it doesn't so I can't use it
