Then to answer your question... I think popular sovereignty is the best thing for the majority of the time... I'm not saying individual rights are awful, I'm saying that popular sovereignty is better that individual rights.

I choose to define unity as TOTAL unification.
You said that when someone is not conforming, or in unity with the country, there is no country, correct?
Do you therefore agree that England did not exist because the colonists were rebelling? After all, you didn't define unity, so mine must be our definition for this round.
And i said that unity was total unification, not part, or even majority unification. It is ridiculous to say that England did not exist simply becuase a small part of it wasn't conformed.

Ashely:Yes
Sam:
Q.You said that when someone is not conforming, or in unity with the country, there is no country, correct?
A.When I said there is no country, I meant to say a civil country.

Q.Do you therefore agree that England did not exist because the colonists were rebelling?
A.Adding on to my previous answer, England did exist, but it was not civil, war had begun because there was no unity.
Q.After all, you didn't define unity, so mine must be our definition for this round.
And i said that unity was total unification, not part, or even majority unification. It is ridiculous to say that England did not exist simply becuase a small part of it wasn't conformed.
A.I did define unity. "Unity: Agreement, concord, the state of being together"

Alright. You did define unity. Sorry.

If there is no civil government, is the government legitimate?

Kansas was able to vote in 1856 to determine if they want to be a slave territory or a free territory. Nebraska did the same.

So are you saying that the government in 1856 was a legitimate popular sovereignty?

Yet the land of Kansas during that time was very un-united. Have you ever heard of bloody Kansas? It was Kansas during that time with people who disagreed with each other going around killing each other. Therefore a legitimate popular sovereignty did not bring unity in that case, it broke unity.

Can you give me one example of a legitimate popular sovereignty that was united?
